Markham Nature Park and Arboretum is a 16-acre island of natural beauty near the heart of downtown Concord. First time visitors are surprised that such a lovely, natural park exists inside the city limits. Markham is Concord’s secret garden . . . still waiting to be discovered by many residents of the area.

The park is being developed by the City of Concord in partnership with a citizen-run, non-profit organization called Markham Regional Arboretum Society. Governed by a Board of Directors and supported by community volunteers, the Society raises money, creates plans, and oversees the development of the park.

Along with donations and grants, funds to develop the park come from Markham Nursery plant sales. Volunteers grow plants from seeds and cuttings offered to the public for sale on Tuesdays and select Saturdays throughout the year.
