Who We Are

The Markham Regional Arboretum Society (MRAS) operates volunteer gardening and community garden(s) within specific City of Concord parks as described in MRAS’s License Agreement with the City of Concord.

The Markham Regional Arboretum Society (MRAS) is a citizen-run, non-profit 501-c3 corporation.   MRAS is governed by a Board of Directors and is operated entirely by volunteers. The MRAS strives to connect Concord residents with opportunities to garden.

Mission

The MRAS strives to connect Concord residents with opportunities to garden 

• Together, with other volunteers, and/or

• Side by side as plot holders in the Community Garden(s).

The MRAS strives to

• Provide opportunity to Concord residents to grow food and habitat plants.

• Maintain the International Garden, which was created by previous members of the MRAS.

•  Improve and create quality wildlife and pollinator habitat through planting California native plants appropriate to our local environment.

• Maintain a collaborative and constructive relationship with our host, the City of Concord.

• Educate visitors about plants that do well in the California Mediterranean climate.
